I have spent eight years working on the R&D team at a small startup that has since shifted its focus from grant-based R&D projects to larger scale production of an individual product. I have followed a number of projects through their full phases of life, specializing in the initial idea development to proposal writing and submission, and carrying awarded projects through to the following stages of concept development, prototype development, prototype construction and testing, and submission of functioning prototypes and designs to the customer or project sponsor.
