Engineer in Ann Arbor, Michigan
I see Autonomous Driving Vehicles being a major disruptor in the personal vehicle and the commercial vehicle markets. The sheer number of people killed each year by motor vehicles is huge and a significant percent (most) of those deaths are by human error. This does not include the number of vehicles destroyed and hospital stays for non-fatal collisions. Reducing this rate by just 10 % would be a major economic shift. By the time you get to 50% the number of vehicles being sold will shift down, the age of drivers will shift up, and capital being spent on insurance, body shops, and hospital stays will go down. The economy will see a major change. I want to be a contributor to this technology change. I have much electro-mechanical experience and programing of PLC’s and working with FRC Robotics. I spent many years in Exterior Lighting and have very good optic and lighting skills. If this is a straight programing position I will not be the right candidate. If you are looking for someone to be able get into the system, evaluate if it is hardware/software/development, make a solution, and then evaluate if the solution improves the system, then I am your candidate.
